Much like Ear Farm’s 8+ posts, I would like to put songs up from time to time that are long BUT also have some political angle.
First one comes from one of my favorite artists, Ani DiFranco. Almost as prolific as Ryan Adams, Ani has grown from an angery chic-singer into a mature song-writer/record label owner. She started Righteous Babe Records for herself but has branched out to others (like Andrew Bird and Hamell on Trial). Look for more posts on Ani once I get some archive space.
This track comes from here live album, SO MUCH SHOUTING, SO MUCH LAUGHTER, released in 2002. It is a response to 9/11 and clocks in at 9:10. A spoken word piece that requires at least two listens to soak up all the lyrics.
