Compare & Contrast ∞ Twin Killers

If you have been reading The Late Greats for a while now, you know I love Marco Benevento. His album from last year – Invisible Baby – was heralded as an 8 track masterpiece.

He is back in 2009 with a killer new album of mostly covers called: Me Not Me. What you get in ten songs: a) Marco distinct keyboard playing complete with impressive solos and intricate melodies; b) stellar backup band, complete with Reed Mathis on bass and drummers Andrew Barr and Matt Chamberlain; and c) a jazzy album that will rock your world.

Complete tracklist:
Golden (My Morning Jacket)
Now They’re Writing Music (Marco Benevento)
Seems So Long Ago Nancy (Leonard Cohen)
Mephisto (Marco Benevento)
Twin Killers (Deerhoof)
Call Home (Marco Benevento)
Heartbeats (The Knife)
Sing It Again (Beck)
Friends (Led Zeppelin)
Run Of The Mill (George Harrison)

Album comes out Feb. 3rd.
