A Beta-Alpha-Cal Glance At My Favorite 10 Albums From 2007 v10.0

After that emotionally draining Vikings game, I’m gonna quote myself from my album review of this post:

“What I really like about this album (besides the incredible vocal work and rocking banjo) is the unpredictability of it. The Avett Brothers write songs that do things you wouldn’t expect.

Songs end when you think there might be another chorus.

Melodies twist and turn in ways you haven’t heard before.

Mind-bending lyrics (like rhyming Indianapolis with “capture us”).

The first listen of the album turns your musical head upside-down. Each subsequent listen, you hear more and more proof that these dudes from North Carolina are the real deal.”
